What Does Mentorship Mean to You?

This engaging session invites participants to explore the multifaceted role of mentorship in professional development. It will commence with an interactive word cloud activity, encouraging attendees to share their personal interpretations of mentorship, thereby setting a reflective and inclusive tone for the discussion.

The presentation will highlight renowned mentor/mentee partnerships that have significantly influenced various industries, illustrating the profound impact of effective mentorship. Subsequently, data driven insights will be presented to underscore how mentorship contributes to enhanced employee retention, career advancement, job satisfaction, and inclusivity within organizations.

Attendees will also hear compelling success stories from participants of the PMI Canada's Technology Triangle (PMI-CTT) Mentorship Program, showcasing real-life examples of mentorship's transformative effects on careers. The session will conclude with an overview of the PMI-CTT Mentorship Program's structure, detailing the application process, mentor-mentee matching, program flow, and recognition mechanisms that contribute to its success.

This session aims to provide valuable insights and practical knowledge, inspiring attendees to engage in mentorship opportunities and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Speaker Biography: 

Kateryna Ivanchuk, PMI-CTT Education Manager, is responsible for developing and leading the Mentoring Program to promote professional development and knowledge sharing among project management professionals in the community. 

Kateryna has over a decade of experience in teaching within higher education, corporate learning and project management, in particular agile project management frameworks including Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban. With a robust blend of academic knowledge, hands-on experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement, Kateryna is working on pioneering innovative strategies in project management education, fostering collaboration between academia and industry.

In her current role as a full-time professor at Conestoga College, she coordinates the IT Project Management program, bringing a unique perspective to IT project management and innovative learning solutions to develop cutting-edge curriculum that prepares students for success in the dynamic field of IT project management.

Kateryna holds a Ph.D. degree in business economics and management, as well as being a certified Project Management Professional and Professional Scrum Master. Kateryna is passionate about leveraging technology and education to drive organizational growth and innovation.
