“An Evening for Easter Seals” project was a real success! We surpassed our fundraising goals by more than tripling the amount we expected even in the pre-sale tickets. The money that was raised will be used to send a family or two children to a fully accessible summer camp this year. We also had an extremely successful silent auction and raffle table that contributed greatly to the success of our event. The Facebook page that we created helped people to fully understand what Easter Seals Ontario does in the community as well. Those who attended have been greatly informed by the MCs as well as by our group of the impact that Easter Seals has on families.
Using a variety of communication channels within the team as well to the stake holders, and planning ahead with some backup solutions against the project risks surely played a big part to ensure guests enjoy themselves by having a good time and contribute to the fundraising event. Equally, it was important to “Enjoy your own Event” by planning it to run smoothly, as Morgan Coles puts it. The success is for the members and the team as a whole.
