Oftentimes product management, project management and portfolio management get co-mingled. As a result, roles, deliverables, and objectives can get confused. There's product roadmap and portfolio roadmaps. Project and product life cycles. Prioritizing and funding decisions for products, portfolios and projects. And then there's applying stage gates to products versus projects. The sweet spot is recognizing the boundaries and playing to each other's strengths. This talk will leverage lessons learned and provide some much-needed clarity.

Speaker: Linda Szmyt
As one of the first Canadians to have received the PfMP certification, Linda has led PMOs and portfolio management at Nortel, Sandvine, and the Toronto Stock Exchange. She is now leading the IT project portfolio to support a multi-year $14B Major Components Replacements program at Bruce Power, the world's biggest nuclear facility.
Linda is actively involved in PMI, having served on the PMI Ottawa Chapter board in 2003, spoken at several events and served as a volunteer in PfMP exam development and as a mentor in Waterloo.
