PMI Canada's Technology Triangle Chapter

Message from our president

Dear Chapter Members and Community Stakeholders,

On behalf of the PMI-CTT Board team, I wish you and your family a great holiday season. 2021 has been another challenging year for all of us. Thanks to the extraordinary support from all of our volunteers and members, our chapter was able to stay steady during this difficult time. We’ve established a more resilient leadership structure and a stronger volunteer team for future growth.

We had a very good turn-around for the member survey in June. Our board team has listened and
addressed the survey results. We’ve been developing some key areas to continue providing the best value to our members.

  • Communications – In addition to the routine e-newsletters and frequent website updates, our social media presence has grown significantly, and LinkedIn has been a new key channel for the interactions between our community and the chapter.
  • Sponsorship – We’ve established a strong relationship with community organizations, such as TMMC (Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc.) and the University of Guelph. For more info about our sponsors and the sponsorship programs, please click this LINK.
  • Events – Adding to the traditional virtual networking events and webinars throughout the year, we’ve increased event management capacity by introducing the Special Events team. Two networking hiking events were successfully launched to allow our members and volunteers to meet in person during this special time. To see more info about upcoming events, please click HERE.
  • Professional Development – We continue to offer many discounted professional development courses and our team has been working diligently to promote Disciplined Agile and help members gain certifications.
  • Volunteer Opportunity – We continue to provide many volunteer opportunities to our members to develop new knowledge and practice their leadership skills. Some new areas of opportunity reside in Data Analytics, PMO, Community Outreach, and other special programs. Please keep checking our volunteer webpage to find your best fit.

There are many more exciting programs and initiatives are currently underway and we look forward to your involvement in 2022. Below are a few highlights:

  • Symposium – We are excited that our annual flagship event Symposium is coming back. Please save the date (April 26th, 2022) for the biggest conference for project professionals in our community.
  • Election Procedure Update – To ensure that we have an effective mechanism in selecting the best executives for our chapter in a fair and transparent manner, we are currently revamping the chapter election procedure. Your feedback is important to us, please make your suggestions through this LINK.
  • Guest Pass – We continue to give out free chapter guest passes to PMI members who have never been members of our chapter before. Please take this advantage and experience our membership benefits by reaching out to our membership team at membership@pmi-ctt.org.
  • Study Group & Mentorship Program – Our professional development team is preparing to launch the new format of study groups and mentorship programs. Stay tuned!
  • Vision and Mission – We are at the juncture of growing from a small chapter to a medium-sized chapter. To shape our future, it’s critical to have a clear vision and mission to guide our path to this growth. You will be part of this critical mission. More details to come soon!

Finally, big applause to our entire volunteer team. Nothing could have happened without your generous contribution!
